Capilano Driving School Policy
1. Driver’s Licence
Students must present a valid BC driver’s licence (Class 7L, 7N, 5L) or a valid foreign
driver’s licence before their first lesson and must carry it during every driving lesson.
2. Driving Lessons- Each lesson is 90 minutes, including:
• 85 minutes of driving instruction and
• 5 minutes of lesson summary, feedback, and practice recommendations.
• Students are responsible for booking their own ICBC road test.
3. Training Vehicle- A maximum of three (3) occupants are permitted in the
training vehicle:
• The instructor;
• The student; and
• One driving supervisor (parent, guardian, or supervising driver), only at the
student’s request.
4. Payment
• Payment for individual lessons, lesson packages, and road test services is
required in advance unless otherwise approved by Capilano Driving School.
• Lesson packages must be paid in full before the first lesson unless prior
arrangements have been approved.
5. Cancellations & Refunds
• Driving lessons cancelled with less than 48 hours’ notice are subject to a $75
cancellation fee.
• Missed driving lessons, classroom sessions, road test appointments, or failure to
present a valid driver’s licence will result in forfeiture of the full lesson or service
fee.
• No refunds will be issued for completed lessons or services.
• Refunds for unused lessons or prepaid packages may be approved and are
subject to a 10% administration fee.
• Capilano Driving School reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to approve,
deny, or make exceptions to this refund policy after considering the individual
circumstances of each case. Any exception is provided as a goodwill gesture
only and does not create an obligation or precedent for future refund requests.
6. Safety & Conduct
Capilano Driving School may postpone, reschedule, suspend, or terminate a lesson if:
• Weather or road conditions make driving unsafe. In these cases, the lesson
will be rescheduled at no additional charge.
• A student’s physical or mental condition makes it unsafe to continue the
lesson. In these cases, no refund will be issued.
• A student displays unsafe, abusive, threatening, or inappropriate behaviour,
or repeatedly fails to follow instructor directions. In these cases, the lesson may
be terminated immediately, and no refund will be issued.
7. Punctuality
Students should be ready at the scheduled pickup location. If a student is late, the
lesson may be shortened but will end at the originally scheduled time.
8. Road Test Vehicle
Students using a Capilano Driving School vehicle for their ICBC road test must hold a
valid driver’s licence and meet all ICBC eligibility requirements.
